The Courtyard Townhouses is a series of three, four-story townhouses. To avoid large stretches of impenetrable dividing walls and strip gardens, the layout allowed each unit to attain at least one full garden, with maximization of window openings for views, light and ventilation. Each of the homes has a ground floor with garden, first floor, penthouse with roof area, and a full basement with parking for three cars each.
The play in buttressed structural elements and walls was designed to protect the privacy of each of the gardens from visibility by the neighboring houses. Additionally the entrances all open from a large common courtyard that is centered by a tree that begins at the basement level and extends into the middle of the structure through a nine square meter opening.
